Tang Rui is interested in social and motivation psychology, specifically applying self-determination theory to people’s intrapersonal and interpersonal goal achievement, goal disengagement, and self-regulation. As a person with great motivation in research, Rui hopes to help people gain their intrinsic motivation and achieve meaningful goals.

Tang Rui is also a very passionate language learner. She has a minor in Japanese, speaks some French and Korean and is currently learning Cantonese. In her spare time, she enjoys playing tennis, hiking, and practicing languages.
