Big Congrats to Tang Rui and Hee Seng—Officially PhD Candidates!

We’re so excited to announce that Tang Rui and Hee Seng have both passed their Qualifying Examinations and are officially moving on as PhD candidates! 🎉

This is a huge milestone in any PhD journey, and both of them truly earned it. We know the QE can be a challenging process, but they both pushed through with perseverance and a positive attitude.

Hee Seng shared:

"Thank you to Prof Jia and everyone for their support, especially to Prof Jia for always being so accommodating, supportive and insightful to my academic journey. It's been a difficult ride but it's so well worth it. My further plan is to push the research of health and wellbeing, and collective action further, and to have more study plans!"

Tang Rui also said:
